We started our adventure at 4 o’clock in the morning when we met at the BER. We didn’t fly directly to the US but had a five hour stop in London before the plane to Dallas took off. 10 hours later stuffed with carrot cake, pasta and ice cream we arrived in Dallas. We successfully made it through the immigration process and were overwhelmed by the warm welcome of our exchange partners.
For some of us it was like meeting an old friend. Some drove home with their exchange partners directly, others were taken to a nice restaurant. It didn’t feel like being awake for more than 24 hours because all of us were looking forward to this adventure.
