On October 6th our three-week exchange to Texas, USA began at the BBR airport.
At the airport the students and our families gathered at around 4 am. A little while later we checked in and handed our suitcases over. That meant it was time to say goodbye to our families.
After passing through security, we boarded and landed a couple of hours later at Charles de Gaulle in Paris. Following a brief layover, we began our ten-hour flight to Dallas. Many of us spent the time sleeping, watching movies, or listening to music, while others enjoyed games like Angry Birds. We were served two meals, one at the start and another before landing.
After our arrival at Dallas Forth Worth International Airport, we received a very warm welcome from all the host families. So the group parted and we all went home with our host families.
Mine and I drove about half an hour to their house. There I had time to settle in, before we went grocery shopping. Later we got dinner and afterwards we attended a concert at the University of North Texas, featuring Dominik Wagner.
When we returned home, I presented my gifts from Germany, and surprisingly, I also got a gift from them.
All in all, this day was exciting filled with new experiences, which is why I can’t wait for what’s happens next.
