English with scent and flavor

Today our English AP class tried a different approach at learning about cultural diversity in the UK. This Friday’s periods weren’t about reading and discussing just another text or solving grammar problems, no, far from it as we chose to inaugurate the brand new and fully equipped kitchen in our villa and  do some Indian cooking!

We opted for a delicious vegetable curry with rice and homemade naan bread accompanied by refreshing mango lassis. Everybody brought some of the ingredients and preparing them even turned out to be quite the team-building activitiy as well as a challenge against the clock as everything had to be prepared within the rather limited 90-minute time frame. So everybody was really busy chopping veggies, garlic, ginger, cilantro,mixing exotic spices or watching the naan dough rise. And right in time for lunch break our home-cooked meal was ready to dig in. Bon appétit!
