Day 18: Discovering the University of North Texas

October 23, 2024

On October 23, 2024, the day started like any other school day. After attending first period, we went to the library to rehearse a skit and a dance for the upcoming farewell party. At 10 a.m., we got on a yellow school bus and set off for the University of North Texas (UNT).

Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly tour guide, an international student from India. Our visit began with an introductory video about the university. Following that, we explored various parts of the campus, starting with the business school and the library, which contains the 7th smallest book in the world! We were also impressed by the expansive on-campus gym, the indoor swimming pool and the medical center.

Lunch was a highlight for many of us, as we enjoyed an all-you-can-eat buffet at one of the university’s cafeterias. The tour ended with a visit to the music faculty, where Professor Dr. Klein introduced us to the impressive Intermedia Theatre designed for experimental music, intermedia, and performance art.

To sum up, the UNT campus felt like its own little world. Some students even live on campus. Although tuition for Texans, excluding housing and living expenses, is around $12,000 per semester, some of us now even consider studying at UNT.

It was an interesting day, and we enjoyed the experience!
